Dance, eat, mingle and meet with one of the greatest American leader’s of our lifetime, Dolores Huerta. The American Labor and Civil Rights Icon will celebrate her 85th Birthday with her closest friends, family and supporters on Saturday, April 11, 2015 by doing what she loves the most—dancing! “Dancing is freedom,” says Huerta.
Dolores Huerta’s 85th Birthday Dance-A-Thon will take place inside the scenic Delancey Foundation, located at 400 N. Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles. Delicious dinner buffet and drinks (cash bar) will be available with admission. Doors open at 7pm. All ages are welcome! Pre-sale tickets are available online or at the door while quantities last. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Dolores Huerta Foundation.
The event will feature the high-energy, dance-driven sounds of DJ Sloe Poke and DJ Troubleman; spinning the best in funk, disco, soul, cumbia, Mexican regional, world music and much more!
Since you’ll be dancing for a good cause, the more sponsors you get for your ticket (or tickets for friends), the more money they raise for Dolores’ Foundation. There will be prizes for the top contestants. Now’s your chance to show off your dance moves!
The Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF) is a 501(c)(3) community benefit organization that organizes at the grassroots level to engage and develop natural leaders. DHF creates leadership opportunities through community organizing, leadership development, civic engagement and policy advocacy.
