Collecting School Supplies For Casa Hogar Estrella – All Girls Orphanage in Rosarito, Baja

Last year, The Orphaned Earring non-profit organization introduced me to twenty young orphan girls in Rosarito, Baja California for my fortieth birthday.  After spending a day with them, the girls reminded me that I shouldn’t take the simple pleasures in life for granted, including education.  As soon as I arrived to their school and home, the girls welcomed me with sincere grateful hugs and smiles.  A stranger they’ve never met could make them happy with a simple donation of pencils and binders.  That simple.

Since then, The Orphaned Earring has honored me by making me the Madrina (Godmother) of their Rosarito orphanage, Casa Hogar Estrella.  As their proud madrina, my duty is to bring awareness to the girls needs, like school supplies before they return to school and bringing holiday joy during Christmas.  But in all reality, all though it may seem that my duty as a madrina is to bring them hope and smiles, it’s them who bring me joy and remind me that it’s the simple things in life that truly matter.

Collecting school supplies to support a successful education

Thanks to wonderful friends and family, the 20 girls ranging from 8-18 yrs of age, were very grateful and happy to receive new pencils and notebooks last year.  We would like to continue to bring back those smiles again for this upcoming school season.  Donating school supplies will help these young girls get the education they deserve.
