Creamy Strawberry Tiramisu Recipe

Jump to recipe

This week for my February Sweetness featured recipe I thought I would try a Valentine creation, a creamy liqueur infused strawberry tiramisu.  That’s right, its liqueur infused, so you know it’s going to be good.  Tell me this wouldn’t make the perfect dessert to serve your sweetheart this coming Valentine’s Day?!  If you’re not a fan of alcohol, no worries, it’s not required and it still tastes delicious.

I know what you’re thinking, Tiramisu usually has espresso or coffee, well this sweet Italian inspired dessert has been slightly adapted.  In fact, Tiramisu’s Italian meaning means “pick me up”, “cheer me up” or “lift me up”.  I’m assuming because the ladyfingers are dipped in coffee, giving you that burst of energy.  All though this strawberry tiramisu recipe doesn’t have any caffeine, it does cheer you up with it’s red, pink and white colors!  Just like the traditional Tiramisu it also has requires ladysfingers and whipped creamy cheese, so you’ll still get that Italian dessert satisfaction.  With only requiring 8 ingredients, you’ll see that it’s actually very easy to whip up.

One advice I do have for you is that after you prepare your strawberry tiramisu, I would store it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours allowing the syrup to be absorbed by the ladyfingers.  If you can, make the dessert one day before and store it overnight.  It tastes so much better the next day!  Now for you booze lovers, you could always add more liqueur if you like to make it a bit stronger.
