Orange County: Discover American Comfort Food This Fall at JT Schmid’s Restaurant & Brewery

JT Schmid’s, located in Orange County, Tustin, California is a warm and inviting brewery and restaurant that is known for its handcrafted micro brews, steaks, pasta, pizza and salads. Unlike it’s Anaheim location that is mostly known for it’s one-stop happy hour location before a sports game or concert, it’s Tustin location features a cozy and casual ambiance with great service and food.

Recently, I had the opportunity to try the introduction of their new fall menu and let me just say, not one item was a disappointment. Everything I tried had such good flavor and tasted so fresh which stuck out to me.

The tasting began with it’s Spicy Chicken and Boneless Buffalo wings covered in JT Schmid’s very own wing sauce and accompanied with blue cheese. They were perfect to start with because they weren’t too spicy and were fairly light so it was not too heavy for an appetizer. I would definitely go back for these!

We also tried the Jalapeno Mac & Cheese which is AMAZING. Words can’t describe the blend of flavors in my mouth that came from the merging of the chicken, bacon, their ale sauce (made from their own beer) and the jalapenos. It is certainly a favorite of mine and possibly yours.  Without a doubt it was a favorite for many at our table.

Although the Mac & Cheese was heavenly, I think my absolute favorite starter is the “Not Your Mom’s Deviled Eggs”. These are deviled eggs like you’ve never seen them before. The yoke is mixed with jalapeno and bacon and is topped with Siracha aioli, all in a FRIED egg white! I cannot describe how perfectly the creamy yoke goes with the fried egg white. This is a must-have.

Now onto the entrees, one item that will definitely catch your eye if you look around at other people’s tables is their “Bigger Badder Asser” Burger. This is their famous 8lb burger and although it is huge it’s ingredients couldn’t have been more fresh! Be aware- it is 8lbs, so if you order this, come hungry or enjoy it with the whole table as this burger can feed up to 6 people! Their prime rib is juicy and fresh and tasted very natural. You’ll definitely be taking some home for leftovers that will last all week.

Overall, this restaurant is very flavorful and unique with its very diverse american dishes. If you can, go give it a try and let me know what you think in the comments section below.
