I scream, you scream, we all scream for Oaxaca Chocolate Banana Ice Cream! It’s been a hot few days here in Los Angeles my friends and it’s going to continue all week! Considering we’ve had a few weeks of rain, we welcome the heat and sunshine with a rich & creamy, Oaxaca Chocolate & Banana Ice Cream.

This chocolate and banana ice cream recipe was inspired by one of my favorite Ben n Jerry ice cream flavors called Chunky Monkey. I did not have any walnuts to create a copy cat version so I added a Mexican twist with Oaxacan chocolate and it turned out even better than expected! Those bits of Oaxaca Chocolate took me back to our Oaxaca Mexico adventures that we experienced this past fall. The creamy banana was rich and smooth. I guess if I really wanted to I would add walnuts next time I make this delicious banana ice cream recipe.

I don’t know about you, but nothing compares to the flavor of sweetened condensed milk. As a Latina, we’re used to the sweetness as we do use it on a lot of our Mexican desserts. But if you’re not a fan of the sweetness, don’t worry, when the condensed milk is frozen and it’s combined with the whipped cream, it will mellow out. The combination of both the milk and whipped cream make this ice cream treat silky and delicious.

I hope you enjoy this rich and creamy treat as much as we did. It’s become a new favorite in our home.
